After School

After school is not my  most favorite time of day.

I do quite enjoy seeing my children after being away for all day, but I do not enjoy:

1. the fact that they are ravionously hungry.  A hunger that nothing can satisfy apparently, because they feel the need to eat non stop until dinner is served. 

2. all the homework that I must constantly nag about until compete.

3. the monitoring of tv watching, computer playing, video game playing.

4. balancing getting all the important things done and ready for the next day, while trying to squeeze in some down time.

I'm looking forward to the spring break, so we can have a small taste of what summer will be like (kids home all day, together:) and then they can go back so I can figure out how we are going to manage that one.

It was Nevada Reading Week.  The kids had a book swap.  Kade was excited about his picks.

I was playing around with the camera.  I'm actually happy that I have been picking it up.  I've had quite the long slump of not feeling it.  So she's back in action, and my kids are thrilled they are my main subjects again;)

Kade particularly thinks that if he gives me a smile, I'll leave him alone.

Smart child.

 

 

Camels

I love this kid.  He is seriously. one of a kind.  He cracks me up every.day.

We have been enjoying the beautiful weather.  Spending lots of time out back before the temperatures change quickly to unbearable.  He has mastered the swing.  He happily pumps himself until he is soaring.  It's his new favorite.

He still quite enjoys animals.  Wants to know about every kind.  Where they live, what they eat....etc.  He also firmly believes he is an animal at times :)  His most favorite is the ferocious lion.

He's still trying to decide what kind of birthday party he wants.  I'm encouraging something easy like flip n out or the skaing rink.  He has ideas of a lion party or maybe a rhino party.  It changes all the time.  Not quite sure what would be happening at those parties.

I'll leave you with a classic Brandon moment relating to animals :)

We went to Whole Foods.  It smells in Whole Foods.  Not quite sure why.  Just needed a little sleep aid.  In real quick and out.  The minute we walked in he comments on the smell then pulls his shirt up over his nose.  Paces around the aisle for a bit and then says, "Come on MOM, it smells like camel farts in here."

Never a dull moment.

Wedding Day: Final Installment

And what are the kids to do with 2-3 hours to spare while having to remain dressed in church clothes? Play out back in the dirt, climb trees, eat red popsicles and watch some netflix movies of course.

So I had to think WAY back to when Steve and I got married.  Kimberly was almost 4 and Ryan was almost 6. We have pictures in our album of Ryan not wanting to participate in the family photos.  He marched down the sidewalk, took off is suit coat and was getting ready to take the tie off.  The photographer got him anyway.

Here we are 17 years later and Ryan managed to miss the family pictures at the temple yet again.  He drove down from Idaho with this big dog Ajax in his pajama bottoms.  That's he rolls.  Grandma kept asking him if he was going to shower and get ready for the ring ceremony.  She was getting anxious, I could tell.  He was waiting on the dryer to iron out his clothes.  Came back a few minutes later all cleaned up.  Well he and Lauren ended up being two peas in a pod. Wanted nothing to do with my camera.  So they had a little chuckle together, making fun of me I'm sure.

A little post ring ceremony with her flags above that mom spent hours on and the centerpieces behind.

Jamie has a jacuzzi in her backyard.  Upon finding this information out Brandon exclaims, "They have a POOL, can I jump in?"  He was fascinated with the water all night.  Ended up getting his shirt all wet.  It was super windy and made for a cold night.

And we got to run into and chat with good friends.

See you two, I told you I'd get that blue out....not too shabby right?
