It's a pretty big deal at our house. It's also happens to be Kyle's birthday so he's grown up every year with fireworks on his day. There was a time that he believed the fireworks were just for him. I love that kid.
We spent the day in the pool at Grandpa and Grandma Abbott's house. Our morning was eventful. Kyle was complaining the night before of ear pain. Took him into a clinic and sure enough he's got an infection. The doctor said no swimming. That really puts a damper on things since we have lots of swimming in the works the next couple of weeks. Plus it was his birthday. We compromised and told him he had to wear earplugs. Seems to have worked.
I love days like this. I wish this could be my view most summer days :)
The kids swam and wore their little selves out.
Brandon and his purple floaties. Steve bought them at the beginning of summer because that's all they had at the store. He tried to convince Brandon that they were boy floaties. Brandon was not having any of that. He finally gave in because he wanted to swim. We've never replaced them. Poor boy is doomed to a summer with purple floaties.
Lauren and Shelby were happy to spend some girl time together. Shelby is Lauren's only girl cousin that is anywhere near her age.
We finished up with watching Aliante fireworks and drinking rootbeer floats.
I opted to leave the camera inside. Sometimes you just have to do that. Be in the moment and not worry about capturing every single detail :)
We're headed off to the beach tomorrow morning. My kids are thrilled. All their hard work helping run our summer camp is going to pay off.

How fun! I hope Kyle's ear is feeling better now.
I think Olivia misses those two cute girls. =)
