Assignment: Photograph your Valentine's Day

This was serious pack time for us.  We didn't do much for Valentine's Day.  I wanted to incorporate some little love mailboxes and have each family member write love notes to each other throughout the month and also introduce beanbag heart to do secret acts of service and leave it where the service was rendered.  That didn't happen, we were somewhat preoccupied with the larger task of packing our place up.

I work in Primary at church and some really cute activity day girls gave me a heart attack and left a treat on the doorstep.  It was so unexpected and happened to fall on a rough day.  Made me smile and I thought how they had no idea how that small, small act of remembering me made my day.  Reminded me that I ought to be seeking opportunities to serve others in small ways.

We got the little boy's valentines done a few days before their class parties.  That is a record for me.  Thank goodness for Pinterest.  I had forgotten to pull out the camera while they were assemblying them. 

Our Year in Photos: Month 1 Week 4

This week in the month is dedicated to recording the details.  The assignment was: height

I had a really hard time figuring out what to do.  I don't have a growth chart, although my kids would love one.  Maybe it'll be a project in the works.  I've seen a large ruler on pinterest and actually saw one at the big garage sale for Ruby but didn't pick it up.  I'm kicking myself about that one.

Then I realized I should really utlize the chalkboard wall in Kyle's room.  It doesn't get the best light, but I went with it.  I love the results:)

Our Year In Photos: Month 1 Week 2

This weeks assignment is to take a photo of your immediate family.

This may not seem like such a difficult task, but it IS.

Sunday seems to be the only day that we are all together without some interruption.  Even though it's not the most creative shot, it's us together, and we don't have nearly enough of those.  So I'll happily take it, grainy and all.

We bribed the kids with cinnamon rolls, I corraled them on to the couch, we intervened in a couple of spats in a two minute time span, got all the settings right on my camera, then the sun went behind a cloud, boo!  My battery ran out in my keyless remote, so I had to use the trusty self timer.  I had two frames, that's all they'd give me.

I love each one of them.  I'm lucky they are a part of my life.
